Finishing The Unfinished Task

Main Text: Zechariah 4:6
📖 Zechariah 4:6 “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord.
This morning’s word was a deep reminder that unfinished tasks especially the ones God has placed in our hands must not be ignored. Starting is easy; finishing takes grace, focus, and full dependence on the Holy Spirit.
✨ Key takeaways:
🔹 It’s not about strength or skill Zerubbabel laid the foundation of the temple and God promised he would finish it (Zech. 4:6–9). What God starts, He equips us to complete.
🔹 Some assignments are generational. Saul left the Amalekites alive (1 Sam. 15), but Esther had to face Haman, a descendant. Unfinished obedience can affect generations, but God always raises someone to finish the work (Esther 4:14).
🔹 Delayed obedience is dangerous. King Amaziah only partially obeyed God and suffered defeat (2 Kings 14). Partial obedience is still disobedience.
🔹 There’s grace for restoration. Hezekiah was told to put his house in order (Isaiah 38), but through prayer, his years were extended. God gives more time when we humble ourselves to finish well.
🔹 David settled unfinished justice. Long after Saul’s sin against the Gibeonites, it was David who sought God and made things right (2 Sam. 21). Don’t ignore what needs to be completed.
🔹 Joshua finished what Moses started. We’re not called to just carry mantles we’re called to finish mandates (Josh. 11:20–23).

🛠️ Practical steps to finish well:
Deepen your prayer life
Stay grounded in the Word
Seek clarity on your divine assignment
Don’t quit faithfulness matters more than hype

🎯 At the end of it all, may we be able to say like Paul:
> “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Tim. 4:7
🙌 There’s unfinished work that must be completed not by effort alone, but by the Spirit. Don’t delay. Don’t give up. Finish strong.
