The Heroic Mindset
Your coming into this world is not a biological accident. You came for a purpose. You came on a divine assignment. Every life has a God-ordained mission, and failure to fulfil that assignment is the greatest tragedy. You were created to finish your race and accomplish God's purpose (Acts 17:28).
The mind is the seat of thoughts, imagination, understanding, and feelings. Every action begins in the mind. Scripture declares, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). Your thoughts shape your life. A positive mind produces a fruitful life, while negative thinking produces defeat and limitation.
A hero is a person of courage, bravery, and noble character. Heroes solve problems, serve others, and make sacrifices. They do not live for themselves alone. They understand that their lives exist to make an impact.
Many people never become what God designed them to be because they allow their minds to be corrupted by fear, worldly distractions, and negative thinking. Israel witnessed God's miracles in Egypt and throughout the wilderness, yet they quickly forgot His mighty acts (Deuteronomy 29:1-6). When people refuse to retain God in their knowledge, their minds become corrupt (Romans 1:28), and they lose sight of His purpose.
You were created to do exploits. You live in Christ, move in Him, and have your being in Him (Acts 17:28). The works He did, you shall do also, and greater works because He has empowered you (John 14:12). You are not ordinary. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Dare to live as the hero God created you to be.
Remain faithful in small responsibilities. Faithfulness in little things prepares you for greater assignments (Luke 16:10). Never despise what God has already placed in your hands.
Your words reveal the condition of your heart. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34-35). Joshua and Caleb saw the same giants as the other spies, yet they declared victory because they possessed a different spirit.
Do not magnify problems. Magnify God. There is no temptation that has overtaken you except such as is common to man, and God is faithful to make a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Lift up your eyes unto the Lord, for your help comes from Him (Psalm 121:1-3).
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2). Refuse conformity to the world's way of thinking. Choose faith instead of fear, hope instead of discouragement, and victory instead of defeat.
The greatest hero is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Love without reservation, for God is love (1 John 4:7-8).
Walk in humility. The Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give His life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). Jesus even washed His disciples' feet as an example of humble service (John 13:5-15).
Show compassion. Jesus was moved with compassion because the people were like sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:36-38). Live with integrity. Jesus declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). Let your yes be yes and your no be no.
Embrace the sacrifice. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). Walk in obedience. Even in Gethsemane Jesus prayed, "Not my will, but Yours be done" (Luke 22:42).
The journey begins with salvation. No one becomes the hero God intended without surrendering completely to Jesus Christ. A renewed mind begins with a transformed heart. When Christ becomes Lord of your life, He gives you the grace to fulfil your divine assignment.
